About
Why Grow Well?
The name Grow Well was inspired by one of my children’s books, The Good Place, in which four insect friends search for the optimal place to live. It struck me that creating the conditions for good health outcomes is much like tending a garden; growth takes time and the right environment to flourish.
A vibrant garden needs the right growing conditions, resources and ongoing care, along with a plan for what will grow best, and in what order. The creatures and plants within it each have their own agenda, but all benefit from — and contribute to — the health of the whole. Sometimes the most important work is preparing the soil. It is unglamourous, often invisible, but essential.
Ultimately, like health systems, gardens flourish through continuous evaluation and improvement, and sometimes the right expert at the right moment makes all the difference.
